26 April-11 May 2019
Our annual Shakespeare on the River Festival runs each April/May in Stratford, Australia. The festival has created an enduring Arts legacy for Stratford that showcases community, professional theatre and the broader Arts scene.
The Festival has grown to include fourteen different events being performed over a two-and-a-half week period. The people of Stratford, The Festival management team, the best artists from around the region, and guest professional companies will take you on a culturally engaging journey back in time.
The 2019 Shakespeare on the River festival embraces the role of supernatural in the works of William Shakespeare. From Hamlet’s dead father to the witches of Macbeth, The Bard invoked plenty of ghosts, sprites and things that go bump in the night to frighten his audience. The festival runs over two weeks starting on Friday 26th April and ending on Saturday May 11.
